SPEAKERS
Emanuela Di Grazia
The lighting designer Emanuela di Grazia has worked in the artificial indoor and outdoor lighting of architectural spaces for six years. She received a degree in architecture from the Politecnico di Torino in 2001 with a thesis entitled: “La città in luce: strumenti e metodologie per il progetto di illuminazione urbana” (the city in lights: tools and methods for urban lighting design), in which she worked along side Roland Jeol, a lighting designer from Lyon, France, on the design of lighting for the city walls of Lucca, Italy. In 2002, she worked as a designer for studio ALCS, Asti, Italy, along side the lighting designer Roberto Casalone, on some lighting designs for buildings and areas of important historical, artistic and archaeological interest, including: the lighting design for “Villa Oplontis”, Pompeii; preliminary lighting design for the Kuala Lumpur towers, Malaysia; lighting design for Asti Town Hall, Italy; lighting design for Piazza Chanoux, Aosta, Italy; lighting plan for the city of Imperia, Italy.
She has worked with major sector companies, such as Flos-Antares, iGuzzini illuminazione and Targetti-Sankey, as a lighting designer and promoter since 2003, and designs indoor and outdoor lighting using lighting calculation, checking and rendering tools.
Since September 2007, she has been a lecturer in the “lighting design-information technology laboratory III” course at the Politecnico di Torino, Architecture 1 Faculty, and has taken part as an external lecturer in the “light the design” course at the Politecnico di Torino, Architecture 2 Faculty. She was a member of the scientific coordination editorial staff for a monographic edition of “Il Giornale dell’Architettura” – Rapporto Annuale LUCE, Illuminazione di spazi esterni (annual report on LIGHTING, outdoor lighting) in October 2007.
Franco Campioni
Franco Campioni was born on 8 December 1958. He qualified as an electrical and electronic industry technician in Ferrara, Italy in 1977. He immediately developed a passion for the study of lighting and its applications. He started his professional career in 1981 as owner of CF Luce, a one-man company that designs and builds indoor and outdoor lighting systems. He therefore started to build lighting systems for shops, offices, medical clinics, public premises, exhibitions, the inside of homes, places of work, gardens, etc., both independently and in cooperation with architectural firms, always using the most up-to-date technology. Since 1995, he has also enthusiastically dealt with show lighting, and has worked as a lighting technician and designer with cultural associations and small theatrical companies to prepare shows. He also cooperates with sector firms as a technical promoter. He joined the Libera Accademia della Luce in 2002 since he shares its aims. He has been a member of the “Accademia della Luce” governing body since 2007. He has therefore been devoted to the application and study of lighting engineering for twenty-five years in its technical, cultural and artistic aspects.
